What is it like to be an alpaca farmer? Do you have to be a lifelong farmer to be successful? Well, we will look at these questions and others as we go through events and happenings at Walnut Knoll Farm. We hope you enjoy our musings and will have a chance to get in your vehicle and visit with us over a good cup of coffee or tea...
When we first began our alpaca journey, you might say we were in over our heads...and that was ok, because we did not know it at the time! We have learned a bunch since we began this adventure in 2002, and now know that at times we are still in over our heads...but you know that is why you learn to swim!!
Our beautiful farm is now the home to two alpaca herds (Jagsalpacas and Pinkie's Pacas), and an excellent coffee roasting operation (The Alpaca Bean Roasting Company/The Alpaca Bean Coffee Company). We have come a long way in our journey and hope to cover a good deal more mileage before old age catches up with us.
We have gained a lot from the friends we have developed in the alpaca industry, and feel we are now in a position to pass some of that knowledge on to you, so that you can either begin fulfilling your dreams or, perhaps, enhance the dreams you have already begun.
